Message from the new 2011/2012 Arnold ES PTA President-Lisa Body

Hello Arnold Family,

With the year well underway and the fall season of fun & activities kicking in, I thought I'd send a not-so-brief reminder of some upcoming PTA activities.

But first, a very enthusiastic THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the Second Annual Walk-a-thon! Thank you for your generosity, thanks to our kids for walking and having a great time and thank you to the committee chairs -- Dawn Kostik, Melanie Price, Keely Hertel, Marie Lear and Betsy Bodziak -- for a job very well done. We reached our goal and are looking forward to a great year of PTA programs and fun because of your efforts.

It was great to meet many of you at Back-to-School night, as I mentioned that night I hope all of you have or soon will "Join, Volunteer & Donate" with Arnold ES PTA. Join so you can vote on the budget and other issues impacting your children, volunteer because it's a great way to connect with your child's teachers and other parents, and donate because we are a self-funded organization and you know all the money will go to bettering your child's educational experience.

Onto the reminders!

Our second PTA meeting is TONIGHT at 7p in the Media Center. We will be reviewing upcoming events and programs and voting on the formation of a new Citizens' Advisory committee. Come JOIN the fun!

Fall Festival is this Saturday, October 15th, 12-4p! The weather looks great and this is such a fun day for kids and parents and we're looking forward to seeing everyone. No doubt you have received one of the many volunter requests from the PTA and your child's class -- WE ARE STILL SHORT-HANDED AND COULD USE MORE HELP! :) Please try and find an hour or two to VOLUNTEER for set-up, work a booth, be a mad scientist, or help clean-up. This is also a great opportunity for older children to earn service hours! Please email Deb Manning with your availability, aesvpv@yahoo.com.
